    The European Space Agency’s three Swarm satellites are scheduled to be placed into low-Earth orbit (460-530 km) on 22 November from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, Russia, by a Rockot launcher. Their objective is to gather crucial data about Earth’s magnetic field with a suite of instruments that CNES and its partners helped to develop. Watch the Swarm launch event live from the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany, and liftoff from Plesetsk, Russia from 11h45 (CET)

    Les 3 satellites de l’ESA, l’agence spatiale européenne, devraient être mis en orbite basse (460-530 km d’altitude) le 22 novembre prochain depuis le cosmodrome de Plessetsk, en Russie, par une fusée Rockot. Objectif ? Récolter des informations cruciales sur le champ magnétique terrestre grâce à des instruments, en partie développés par le CNES et ses partenaires.
